Self-Directed 30-Day Project Analysis Courses

The Clean Energy Institute of GPEKS delivers over a dozen Self- Directed (self-paced) renewable energy project feasibility analysis courses that expand from RETScreen material.

During these self-directed courses, participants are introduced to the knowledge and tools required to enable stakeholders to decide whether or not to proceed with a potential clean energy project. In a 30-day online course, participants will learn about:

  • the opportunity/risk factors of clean energy projects, including technical, technological, environmental, financial, organizational and regulatory;
  • the most appropriate technologies, types of systems and design options given various needs and situations;
  • the use of RETScreen to evaluate the energy production, life-cycle costs and greenhouse gas emissions reduction for a clean energy solution;
  • the elements of a pre-feasibility study based on a case study and a project feasibility analysis methodology template.

There is no facilitator feedback or team work involved in these self-paced courses. Knowledge is evaluated via three multiple choice exams. Differences between the self-paced and certificate version of a course are detailed here.

Note that our English self-paced project feasibility analysis courses on Renewable Energy are recognized by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
AEE members with a 70% overall average will be eligible to receive a certificate of completion as well as 1 CEU / 10 PDHs from AEE.

For course cost, request information.

Self-paced courses start the first of the month (except for July, August, December and January) following payment receipt (and membership confirmation for those wishing AEE's CEU/PDH).
